Today I met Lady S in Camden. First stop was Wetherspoons by the canal. It was rather busy - any available seat was like prey, whenever someone stood up to leave their chair would be swooped upon vulture-like. A chair became available next to me and in an instant a bloke was by my side and asked "Is anyone sitting 'ere?" to which I replied without a thought "You can take the chair." Notice the emphasis on 'take'. He walked off with it in a huff towards his mates muttering under his breath "I didn't want to sit next to you!" to the amusement of my companion. Oh dear. I must've come across as (unintentionally) dismissive or something.
After a regretful detour to another pub, we arrived at our final destination, a nice albeit 'hipster' pub called The Black Heart which was sporadically decked out in religious paraphernalia. The staff were super slim (and this is the men I'm talking about) and they were playing The Libertines. Check the decor....
