Coffee Overload

My last day off, boohoo. Tried to make the most of it. Went to Beas for a coffee & cupcake (check out those tasty close-up pics below, ooh la la!). Great coffee. Craig had an appointment at UCLH so I walked up with him to Tottenham Court Road, while I was waiting for him I browsed in a few shops, bought some stationary from Paperchase, also finally bought a steamer to get rid of 'em pesky wrinkles on my garms, oh and got some hangers too. Oh what fun.

Then met Craigski in Peyton & Byrne for a (mediocre) coffee, where I am right now typing away on this rainy day. I do like these mugs:

And finally, something totally unrelated, Craigski cooked steak the other night, he actually cooked (picture doesn't really do it justice):

Twas lovely. (I hope he cooks more, hint hint).

Cleo, wherefore art thou?

The other night we went to visit Craig's mum at her new-ish flat in Covent Garden, only recently she bought her cats over - they have to get familiar with their new surroundings and not go out for at least 3 weeks. Anyways, that evening she had a delivery of her new dryer and rug and the delivery men were there as we arrived. The door was open so we let ourselves in. I went straight to the cats. The ginger one, Alfie, was at his usual spot, but the other one, Cleo was nowhere to be seen...

By now the delivery men had already left, I asked Craig's mum where Cleo was, check under the duvet she says - nope. Not there. So we search everywhere, it's not a big flat and it's obvious Cleo is gone. Craig spends the next 2 hours outside frantically searching for her, Craig's mum is worried, the neighbours are concerned and i'm looking out the balcony just incase I spot her. We had given up. Craig's mum comes back indoors and is chatting to me in the living room when, lo and behold, who comes crawling out from right inside the TV unit, stretching and yawning after a long nap - yeah, Cleo!!! Oblivious to all the trouble she's caused. What a BIG relief it was and a happy ending to a hectic night. Phew. Bloody Cleo! We missed dinner because of you!

The British Museum & Other Stuff

Naked! They weren't shy back then were they?

How's it hangin'?

Does he nose something's missing?

On the way to the Barbican we pass through Lambs Conduit Street. This is the lovely window of Persephone Books

Hungry & tired. Time for Pizza Express.

This is what I always order - Sicilian lemonade + Padana pizza (Goats cheese, red onion, caramelised onions, spinach, garlic oil) yum

Then we walk to the Barbican centre. Note the Tesco bag. Someone used to call me 'the bag lady'.

Been meaning to take this shot for a while. Hot pink splashed paint near my flat, looks grrreat with the leopard!

Sweet Treat!

Thought I'd treat myself to a Panasonic LX3, been meaning to buy a quality point and shoot camera for a while, so after some research, I opted for this camera which is the twin sister of the delectable Leica D-Lux 4 but is way much affordable. They are practically the same and both highly recommended, so I went for the one I could afford. Though if I had money, looks-wise I would go for the Leica. Here are a couple of amateurish test close-ups, in low light and unedited, i'm still going through the manual aaarggh! Don't you just HATE manuals? Why can't it be simple, don't know about you but I have to read a sentence twice (sometimes thrice!) before it registers and I understand all the tech nonsense....

Just a couple of iPhone pics....
I like this picture in a weird way. It was taken in an old school Italian cafe called City Snacks on Theobalds Road. Awful food though, such a shame. We were talking about how sad that these old cafes are disappearing from London, but if they all serve bland and mouldy food like we were served at this place, well, it would be understandable. And yes, I said mouldy, I ordered the 'Soho Special' (chicken, spinach and swiss cheese), I realised after several bites why it was 'special' - the swiss cheese had mould growing on it, eek!

Burfday breakfast ooh la la.....

Beas of Bloomsbury

Mmmmnnn delightful vanilla passionfruit icing with blueberries cupcake. We stopped off at Beas for a coffee, plus it was raining outside, so why not. It stopped raining when we were inside, even the sun decided to make an appearance. Of course, when we left the cafe it started to rain. Wowee a whole post about the weather. I haven't blogged in ages, when I finally do it's mostly about the bloody weather. It's like when you haven't seen someone for a long time and you just bump into them in the street and it's a bit awkward, so you end up talking about the weather. Oh dear.

Da Barbican

Went for a late night stroll last night while Craig went a tad bit trigger happy with the Nikon. Eagle eyed observers might notice my hair looks a lot sleeker, unlike the withered dry hay I've become accustomed to. Yep finally got it cut + the obligatory blow dry. When the lady asked me what I wanted to do with my hair, I said "please do something with my witch hair!".

Me trying to get beamed up scotty.
